Restorative landscape design: Gardening with Indigenous plants

Indigenous plants belong on the land they have evolved in and placing them back into it is a rewarding experience for any gardener

As garden designers we seek to get in touch with the unique qualities of the places we shape. We seek to respect and honor those places in meaningful ways. One of easy ways to do this is to begin your next garden design with a visit to your local Indigenous nursery. By choosing Indigenous plants we can assist the process of landscape repair, reinforce our gardens local context and provide habitat and floral resources for Indigenous flora and fauna.   

Gardening with Indigenous plants comes with the added joy of knowing you are adding positively to your local environment  Breakaway moment.
