It was possible to create a small courtyard on the backside a low ridgeline with the help of a curved, railway sleeper retaining wall. A natural creek line meanders along the top of a rocky outcrop that defines the entrance to the house before dropping gently into a shallow pond, bringing with it a sense of peace and stillness. Rocks, recycled timber and granitic sand complement this 1960’s merchant builder home giving the entrance a sense of peacefulness and organic feel.
